The characteristics of our Citrus Fruits:

 

 In all classes, our citrus fruit have the following characteristics: 

 

- intact,
 - free of bruising and/or extensive healed overcuts, 
- sound; products NOT affected by rotting or deterioration. 
- clean, practically free of any visible foreign matter,
- practically free from pests, 
- free from damage caused by pests affecting the flesh,
- free of signs of shrivelling and dehydration, 
- free of damage caused by low temperature or frost, 
- free of abnormal external moisture, 
- free of any foreign smell and/or taste.

 

 The development and condition of our  citrus fruits are able: 

 

- to withstand transportation and handling.
- to arrive in a satisfactory condition at the place of destination.


B. Maturity  

 

Our citrus fruits have reached an appropriate degree of development and ripeness, 

The  Maturity of  our citrus fruit is defined by the following  parameters specified for each species below: 

 

- satisfactory juice content, 
- satisfactory sugar/acid ratio1,
 - colouring.

 The degree of colouring is such that following normal development ,the citrus fruit reach the colour typical of the variety at their destination point.

 

Classification :

 

Citrus fruit is classified in three classes, as defined below:
  
(i) "Extra" Class 

 

Citrus fruit in this class is of superior quality.

 It is characteristized  of the commercial type.
 It is  free from any internal or external  defects,
 It is free from  any slight superficial  defects which may affect the general appearance of the product , the quality,  or its  presentation in the package.

 

(ii) Class I

 

 Citrus fruit in this class is of very good quality.

 It is characteristized of the variety and commercial type. 

the tolarence percentage is less than 10%

 - a very slight defect in shape, 
- a very slight defects in colouring,
 
 
(iii) Class II

 
The following slight  defects may be allowed, provided the citrus fruit retains its essential characteristics as regards the quality, the keeping quality and presentation:

 - a slight defects in shape, 
-  a slight defects in colouring.
-  rough skin in Mandarin.
